mGifts - Gift List Manager App Reviews

Just found this and have now entered all the extra gifts that I didnt give this Christmas, it was easy and simple and great - thank you. I did come up with one wish, that this app would have a Notes section or an area that would remind me where I have stored that gift item...so when I need to get it to wrap it I can remember where I put it...thats all...food for thought!

Works great. When ever I get gift ideas I can now put them in an organized app. Bug: if the description is to long it goes over top if the items cost. It would be nice to be able to input how much i want to spend on someone.

Need to seperate gifts for different occasion

This is a great way to keep track of gifts. The extra thing I would like would be able to put a checkmatk by a persons name when I finished shopping for them for quicker use. I have a lot of people to shop fir so it would come in handy. Great ap!

Love this app but would like to see a few added features - would like to email list/s to another person, would like to be able to separate lists by event.

I had many gifts to buy in just a few hours. I dont think I could have done it without an app like mGifts. However, there are a few features I wished it had had. I chose mGifts because it had a clean interface and was designed for use at times other than Christmas. First, I entered peoples names. Then I entered the few gifts I already had followed by those I needed to get for each person. I could have added their pictures, but the notes section for each gift was more important to me. I havent tracked dollars before, but mGifts made it easy allowing me to ensure I was fair to each of the kids while tracking my total spending. I was also able to enter a store for each gift either generally like "electronics store" or specifically like "Best Buy". This was extremely useful as I could see what I needed in each location -- not missing anything and planning my route. As I purchased items, I just checked them off the list. Being able to see a list of only those items remaining became quite valuable as I got through the list. I had some items under Unassigned Store which I was able to keep an eye on as I progressed. Seeing the number and value of gifts purchased and needed was nice. Adding last second ideas and purchases while I was shopping was easy even with my time constraints. I didnt use the email function, but it looked handy for coordinating your shopping with someone else. Other likes include: - Easy to figure out how to use - Clean interface - Designed for shopping other than Christmas - Gives you a record for next year Features I wish mGifts had include the following: - A notes field for stores to enter info like address - Ability to enter info on my desktop computer and sync to iPhone before I started shopping - Ability to use the map function on the iPhone for store location (imagine route optimization - wow) - An option for possible gifts that didnt track in the totals - An option to organize people by groups like Friends, Family, Brothers Family, Work - An option to assign items to be purchased as To Dos with dates/time alerts (if I had had more time) - The ability to filter people, gift and store views as well as totals by event so a January birthday list wouldnt mix with Christmas. Here are a couple of tips, if you buy mGifts: - Add yourself as a person if you have chores to do while shopping - just enter the info as a reminder - Consider using types of stores rather than store names where appropriate in case one place doesnt have what you want - If you have heavy shopping to do, add mGifts as one of your 4 main bottom buttons on your iPhone home screen until you are done

What drew me to this app was the fact that it wasnt just another Christmas list. Its defiantly on the right path, I just think it needs a few more features to make it better then its competitors. Heres what I think should be added next release. 1. Able to add people from contacts 2. Able to add events from calendar 3. Able to group people 4. Able to budget groups 5. Able to price gifts by store (price comparison) 6. Link to maps to locate stores 7. Able to customize gift categories. ie. return, wrap, mail. etc Other then that good app

I really like this app. It is keeping me on track with all my Christmas gift buying. Even added Christmas eve supper and Christmas Dinner as people and the list required for that!! I agree with one of the other reviews that it would be nice to be able to add people from your contact list. All in all great app!!

This gift app is exactly what I was looking for. You can enter as many people as you need, a gift list for each of those people and the event eg. Christmas and/or birthday. This makes it more useful than just for one holiday and can plan gifts year round when you get a gift idea. You can also enter and edit which store the gift is to be purchased from. This is huge to me as I can pull up the list for a store when I am shopping in it rather than having to go through each person. I bought another popular Christmas list just prior to this one for a dollar less but it didnt have the flexibility of this app. Very easy to use right away. Highly recommend.

I like this app very much, there are numerous great features, like viewing your lists by store or by event for example. Tracking funds spent is useful and likely to curb my Christmas spending! This is what I would do differently or wish this app could do: - sync between my iPhone and iPad. If this is possible its not intuitive as I havent come across the way to do this. - email a single gift idea to a person instead of a whole list - see the notes associated with a gift in the main edit screen without having to tap; or at the very least some icon showing a note exists - ability to add fields/categories to expand on the idea, have, need, archive categories. I would add a category for "assigned to" or something, so that you could make a note of having given the gift idea to another family member (grandparents for example) - produce a pie chart showing relative spending on each person or on selected persons. Its a little expensive, this app, so I donthink these features are unreasonable

If this could sync between the iPad and iPhone it would be great!

Love the iCloud option (had the old version and just upgraded). The other categorization options are nice too, but why does it keep crashing? I selected my Christmas event no less than 10 times in a row this morning and it just dumps me out and back to my desktop. Help?

Let the update go through and it wiped out all stored data. Not great at Xmas. Bah!!

After latest update it is super buggy and crashes a lot. Also I lost all saved info after upgrade. Not impressed.

Now I dont forget the gifts Ive bought throughout the year.

The best gift app yet. Lets me keep track of what I got who previous year too.

I like how this app isnt cluttered with tacky graphics that take away from the purpose of the app. The sync feature works well between my iPad and iPhone.

Live this organizer for the busy holiday season, especially when I get those occasional BRAINSTORM ideas that I can record and track. It does crash now and then however, but I havent lost any data yet!

I absolutely love this app! For someone like myself (a busy mom) who likes to stay highly organized but with two very small children it is very hard to keep on top of gifts throughout the year. I loved having my list with me all the time and when I saw an item on sale throughout the year I would check to see if I needed something extra for someone or if they were covered. Great reminder too if something has already been purchased and hidden somewhere in the house I dont forget about it and find it later, too long after an occasion. Love it!

You need to go through a lot of screens to even get this to sort of work. Cant imagine taking this shopping and trying to keep track of everything on the go. Doesnt let you tie the same gifts to multiple people - at least not easily.
